Questions
- How do I convert a Hijri date to Gregorian?
- Choose “Hijri to Gregorian”, then enter the Hijri day, month and year. The converter gives the Gregorian date and the weekday on the Umm al-Qura calendar.
- Which Hijri calendar does the converter use?
- Umm al-Qura, the official calendar of Saudi Arabia, as built into the browser's date library. We checked it against the official Umm Al-Qura annual reference for 1448 AH, and every month start matched.
- Why does the converter say a 30th does not exist?
- A Hijri month has 29 or 30 days. When the Umm al-Qura calendar gives a month 29 days, its 30th does not exist, and the next day is the 1st of the following month.
- Is a converted date certain for Ramadan and Eid?
- No. For religious days the official moon-sighting announcement decides, and it can move the date by a day from the calculated one.
