How the results are compiled

Each auction is compiled from the organiser's own announcement (the RTA, Emirates Auction, Dubai Media Office or WAM) and from reports in Gulf News, Khaleej Times, The National, Arabian Business and Zawya. Only results are listed: never a preview or a list of plates on offer.

Every price and total is linked to a page that states it. Where the sources give fewer than five prices, the list stays short; nothing is estimated. A buyer is named only where a source names them openly. Phone numbers sold at the Most Noble Number auctions are not plates and are left out of the list, and the total says whether it includes them.

Prices are in dirhams as announced, with dollars at the official peg of 3.6725. Online-only auctions are not covered.
