The Price of Prestige
The Price of Prestige: September 2026
Two sales held in the Gulf in September 2026 meet the Prestige Thrones rules: a villa on Palm Jumeirah and a falcon at ADIHEX in Abu Dhabi. The falcon took the top seat of the falcon board.

In US dollars. The dirham, the Saudi riyal and the Qatari riyal are converted at their official pegs (3.6725, 3.75 and 3.64 to the dollar); any other currency at a sourced rate for the day of the sale, named in the table.
The month's most expensive verified sale was a completed six-bedroom villa in the Ayumi project on Palm Jumeirah, recorded by the Dubai Land Department on 1 September at AED 260 million.
On 6 September, the final falcon auction of ADIHEX 2026 sold a white gyrfalcon for AED 2.1 million, which the organiser described as the highest price a falcon has fetched at auction. It is now first on the falcon board.
No sale that meets the rules was found in the other seven categories. The search found no plate, phone-number, art, watch or superyacht sale held in the Gulf in September with a published price, and no individual price from the camel and Arabian horse auctions at ADIHEX.

Seen and left out
- Two ADIHEX falcons that sold for AED 1.5 million and AED 1.1 million were auctioned on 29 and 30 August, so they belong to August.
- A 41,345 sq ft plot in Dubai Hills Estate sold for AED 100 million, in a partner-content page on Gulf News (18 September). It is land only, which the homes category leaves out.
- A second Ayumi villa was mortgaged for AED 130 million on the same day as the sale above. A mortgage is not a sale.
How this report is made
A sale is included only when it was completed, and held physically or officially in the GCC during the month. A purchase made abroad by a Gulf buyer does not count, and neither does an agreed price that was never paid.
Every sale rests on a reliable source that states its price: WAM, Khaleej Times, Gulf News, The National, Arab News, Reuters, Bloomberg, or an official statement from the organiser, the auction house or a government body. Every source was opened before publication.
A buyer is named only where a source states the name as fact. Live animals count only when sold at an official or licensed auction or festival. Nothing is estimated: a month with no verified sale in a category says so.
