Saudi end-of-service award calculator
Enter the last monthly wage, the length of service and how the job ended; the calculator applies Articles 84, 85 and 87 of the Saudi Labor Law.
The rule, and where it comes from
- When the work relationship ends, the award is half a month's wage for each of the first five years and a month's wage for each year after them, on the last wage, with part years in proportion (Article 84).
- On resignation, nothing is due under two consecutive years of service; a third of the award for two to five years; two thirds for more than five and under ten; the whole award from ten years (Article 85).
- The whole award is due on resignation for force majeure beyond the worker's control, and to a woman who ends her contract within six months of marrying or three months of giving birth (Article 87).
- The 2024 amendments (Royal Decree M/44 of 1446, in force since February 2025) did not change these articles.
- Service is entered as years, months and days: a month counts as a twelfth of a year and a day as 1/365 of one. Enter the last wage as your contract and payslip define it; which allowances belong in it is a question of the law's definition of wage, not of this calculator.
- Not covered: dismissal under Article 80, which carries no award, and amounts owed by either side.
